Apple Walnut Crisp and Chocolate Pecan Pie Recipes

Looking for some dessert recipes for Thanksgiving? The Holiday season is going to be here before we know it. Below are two delicious desserts that can have your Thanksgiving conclude with a sweet ending!

Apple Walnut Crisp
1 ½ cups of flour
1 1/8 cups of old fashion oats
1 1/8 cups packed brown sugar
1 ½ cups of walnuts (5 ounces) toasted, finely chopped
1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
¾ teaspoons salt
1 ½ sticks unsalted butter, ½ inch cubes, soft
4 ½ pounds sweet tart apples such as gala or granny smith
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
4 ½ tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons flour

Pre heat oven to 375 degree’s with rack in the center of the oven and butter a 12 by 9 by 2 inch glass baking dish.

Stir together flour, oats, brown sugar, walnuts, cinnamon and salt in a bowl, then blend in butter with your finger tips until mixture forms small clumps.

Peel and core apples and cut into ¼ -inch thick wedges, then toss with lemon juice, sugar and flour in a bowl. Transfer to baking dish.

Crumble oat topping evenly over apple mixture and bake until topping is golden and apples are tender, about 45 minutes. Serve warm.

Chocolate Pecan Pie
1 Pie Crust
3 eggs
2/3 cup sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter (melted)
1 cup corn syrup
1 cup chopped pecans
1.5 cups chocolate chips

Mix eggs, sugar, salt, butter and corn syrup in a bowl.
Fold in pecans and chocolate chips.
Pour into raw pie crust and bake at 315 degrees for about 50 minutes. Cool.
