March 2014 Florida Event Highlights

bike-week
March is here, and despite what the groundhog said a few weeks ago, it’s beginning to feel like spring here in Florida.

There’s always plenty to do here in the Sunshine State, but this is the time of year that events go into overdrive.

Here’s just a taste of what Florida has in store for March.

Bike Week – Daytona Beach

It doesn’t officially begin until March 7 but residents in our Daytona area communities can already hear (and feel) it coming.

Each year roughly 500,000 people visit Daytona for this 10-day event featuring motorcycle racing, exhibits, concerts, shows, booths, and a variety of parties.

And every year it seems there are one or two that swing by one of our models, fall in love with a home, and decide to never go back home.

Major League Baseball Spring Training – Various Locations

We told you about several golf and tennis events happening over the next few months, but Major League Baseball also sets up shop in Florida each March.

This year’s Grapefruit League schedule runs through March 29th and takes place in various locations throughout the state.

Teams that make their spring training homes in Florida include the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Miami Marlins, Minnesota Twins, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, Tampa Bay Rays, Toronto Blue Jays, and the Washington Nationals.

Florida Strawberry Festival – Plant City

This event is popular with locals and visitors alike, and is now ranked in the Top 40 Fairs in all of North America.

In addition to plenty of strawberry infused and inspired treats, the Florida Strawberry Festival also features live entertainment, a midway with rides and other attractions, contests, exhibits, and more.

The festival runs through Sunday March 9th. Visit the festival website for more information.
