After a huge Thanksgiving meal it seems that the whole family just wants to lounge around the house and sleep off their food. We have always heard that this is due to the ingredients in the turkey that makes us so tired. Well, that’s not the case. According to Bon Appetit Magazine‘s, The 5 Biggest Thanksgiving Myths Debunked, roasted turkey does contain tryptophan (precursor to calming, feel-good serotonin) but not enough to make you sleepy. Unfortunately we cannot blame the turkey! Sometimes we just get overwhelmed by the holidays in general. So, take the night before to get a good rest, relax while cooking, don’t stress about the holidays, and just have fun! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
