A quick refresher
Legacy Wiregrass Ranch is being planned as a future “downtown” gathering spot. It will be located on the southeastern side of Wiregrass Boulevard, with State Road 56 as its southernmost boundary, and will feature shopping, dining and entertainment, along with expansive education and medical facilities.
Also on the board is 100,000 square feet of retail space and 100,000 square feet of office space. Look for a 1,500-space parking garage, a food hall and an entertainment facility with a 2,500-person capacity.
The breadth and size of Legacy Wiregrass Ranch is impressive, consider Porter and his development team are only embarking on Phase 1 of Legacy Wiregrass Ranch. Circle 2026 as a likely Phase 1 completion date. A future hotel, conference center and even apartments also are planned, along with buildings from four to seven levels tall.

Proximity to Persimmon Park
Wiregrass Ranch Boulevard, which runs north and south between State Roads 54 and 56, is the community’s main thoroughfare. And it’s a big community — more than 5,000 acres — with plenty of space for future new custom Florida homes and development.
Persimmon Park is perfectly positioned to be within walking and cycling distance of Legacy Wiregrass Ranch. The latter’s southern boundary will be the intersection of S. R. 56 and Wiregrass Ranch Boulevard. A new Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital began construction on this site earlier this year, with a projected opening date of 2026.
Legacy Wiregrass Ranch will begin taking shape around that timeframe, and fill in to the north of the new Orlando Health hospital — and just south of Persimmon Park. Talk about convenient!
