Located in the Daytona Beach area, the city of Port Orange is one of the most desirable places to live in east central Florida. We at ICI Homes might be biased, but our master-planned community of Woodhaven in Port Orange is an outstanding choice for new custom Florida homes. We’ll even introduce you to its sales agent — Tison King.
King is a Volusia County native who knows the area well. Before joining ICI Homes in April 2019, his real estate career took him to other municipalities and he’s become a champion of Port Orange, citing A-rated schools, community resources, access to Atlantic beaches and plentiful shopping, dining and services.
“All those things kind of go hand-in-hand,” King says. “The people are nice, people want to live here — it’s just all around a great city.”
Here’s why Woodhaven is a popular Port Orange choice.
A conscientious guide
Conveniently located south of the Interstates 95 and 4 interchange, Woodhaven offers one- and two-level floor plans, and luxury townhomes.
As of this writing, Woodhaven is 18 months old and King has helped families, parents with college-age children, and soon-to-be retirees find their dream homes during that time.
“Quite a bit of people in the medical field, engineering, business owners,” he says. “We’ve had four or five different restaurant owners buy here.”
A robust real estate market and global health crisis-spawned relocation trend are keeping King busy. Woodhaven’s out-of-state influx reflects Minnesota, the Carolinas, New York, Rhode Island and Maine, for example, but he says buyers often cite personal reasons.
“‘My sister lives an hour away, this is an all-around good move for us,’” King says. “Or, ‘the kids live in Florida,’ or, ‘my wife’s mom lives in Port Orange.’”
He’s happy to help and is enthusiastic about ICI Homes’ EQ Factor building philosophy. It incorporates the latest construction techniques with environmentally friendly and energy-smart materials, systems and appliances.
He’s even getting better at highlighting design perks.
“‘Wouldn’t your bed look so beautiful here?’” he jokes. “‘Aren’t these pretty colors?’”
Going the distance
Sometimes helping customers takes extra effort.
That’s what happened not long ago for a local couple who wanted to follow their good friends to Woodhaven. This couple chose a new townhome like their friends had purchased, but couldn’t sell their existing home. Meanwhile, another buyer snagged the home the couple wanted.
Bummer!
“They gave up and said, ‘We’re just going to stay,’” King said of the couple’s existing home. “Then six months went by, and lo and behold, they’re back.”
Once the couple sold their existing home, King helped them find one they loved just as much. Now, their new home is around the corner from their friends.
“In my world, that’s a success story,” King says.
Rightly so!
