5 Reasons We REALLY Love Florida

Grand Haven Golf

It’s no small accident that all of our communities are located in Florida.

If you haven’t figured it out already, we think it’s pretty great.

But while most people focus on the weather when talking about why they love Florida (you got us…we love that too!), we have a few other reasons why we love it and think you will too.

1. Your dream of living near the beach can become a reality.

Three of Florida’s beaches were listed among Dr. Beach’s Top 10 Beaches in 2013.

And what do you know… many of our communities are just a short drive to the beach!

With more than 1,350 miles of coastline, Florida makes coastal living easy. When the ocean is in your backyard, you always have something to do, even if it’s just parking your car, rolling down the windows and staring out at the rolling waves.

But even if you choose not to live near the ocean, no matter what part of the state you decide to settle down in you’re never far away from a day at the beach.

2. You get to keep (more of) your money.

I like money.

How about you?

Florida is one of just a handful of states that have no state income tax. In Florida, you can enjoy more money in your paycheck or the dividends from your retirement income without giving up a large portion to the government.

Cheers to that!

3. Florida is the golf capital of the world.

Florida has more golf courses per capita than anywhere else in the world, so you’ll likely find a golf course within short driving distance of your home.

In many Florida communities, you can even drive a street-legal golf cart from your house to the course.

But if you’d rather drive your car, you can even get yourself a license plate proclaiming your love for the sport.

Did you know we offer 5 communities with golf courses throughout North and Central Florida? Golf is available in the Ormond Beach and Palm Coast areas at our Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club and Grand Haven communites as well as in Jacksonville at Amelia National Golf & Country Club, Julington Creek, and North Hampton.

4. You’ll never lose your sense of adventure.

It’s hard to think about Florida without imagining all the fun you can have at a theme park.

With Disney World, Universal, Busch Gardens, Legoland and Sea World right around the corner, the grandkids will be begging to visit, and you won’t have to work too hard to come up with ways to entertain them when they do.

5. You can improve your health and live longer.

According to many studies, almost half of people between 45 and 64 barely get any exercise. However, exercise can prevent mental decline, increase life expectancy and improve quality of life.

People who live in Florida tend to be active more months out of the year than northerners. The wonderful weather makes it easy to get outdoors in every season, so golfing, cycling, tennis and running or walking can be enjoyed year-round.

We could go on and on, but think you get the point.

Florida is awesome for more reasons than just the great weather.

So if Florida is on your radar, what are you waiting for?
