Fresh outdoor air and Florida’s trademark sunshine can be a tonic for a lot things, so it’s no surprise that many potential ICI Homes customers are curious about resident amenities and outdoor recreation options in our master-planned communities.
We’re celebrating 45 year of building new custom Florida homes all over the Sunshine State, both in communities we develop and those in which we’re preferred builders, and resort-style swimming pools, golf courses, sports courts, dog parks and playgrounds are a constant, not to mention miles of sidewalks and trails.
But if you and yours love to spend as much time as possible outdoors, we’ve got you covered. Read on to find out what kind of ICI Homes communities are good for nature lovers.
We won’t blush to say, “all of them.”
Master-planned communities offer choices
Florida’s year-round temperate climate is a major reason many people move here and with good reason. It’s possible to enjoy outdoor activities of some sort nearly every day, from the ubiquitous running and walking and cycling, to outdoor recreation like camping, hiking, surfing and beach pursuits in parks and preserves.
ICI Homes’ master-planned communities always contain miles of sidewalks and trails, plus pocket parks and green spaces. This makes it easier for all residents to be — or become — nature lovers once they buy or build a new custom Florida home in one of our communities.
Here’s a look at several communities with unique, nature-loving features.
Seven Pines
One of Jacksonville’s newest master-planned communities on the metro area’s southeast flank is embedded in more than 1,000 acres conserved for decades by the local Skinner family.
Seven Pines’ 7,999-square-foot amenity center is a great hub for nature lovers thanks to an adjacent 34-acre park, gleaming Lake Catherine with a launch area for personal watercraft (and canoes and kayaks to paddle), plus a two-mile trail encircling the lake.
The golf courses
Two of ICI Homes’ top properties on Florida’s Atlantic coast are Amelia National Golf & Country Club in Fernandina Beach, and Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club in Ormond Beach.
Amelia National features a Tom Fazio-designed course while Plantation Bay offers 45 holes of golf. The courses in both communities are set in beautiful coastal-forested surroundings accented by ponds and lakes.
Mosaic
Similar to Seven Pines, this master-planned community in Daytona Beach also features a lake — Lake Mosaic.
A boardwalk frames its shore near Club Mosaic, the community’s amenity center, offering a prime spot for fishing and strolling, or lounging in nearby chairs to savor sunsets.
Mosaic residents also can explore Tiger Bay State Forest, which forms Mosaic’s entire western border. This 28,365-acre tract offers cycling, hiking, camping, lakes and ponds for padding and fishing, and even camping, horseback riding and seasonal hunting.
Oakmont
Gainesville’s top master-planned community boasts the Gopher Tortoise Reserve, a 46-acre tract with a two-mile hiking trail through north central Florida’s natural woodsy, meadowy terrain.
