A Resident’s Guide to Life in Lake Nona

Here’s a public service announcement to house hunters seeking a new custom Florida home in the Orlando area: head southeast of the City Beautiful to Lake Nona.

Lest you think it’s an obscure area with an aggravating commute, it’s absolutely not. Lake Nona is Orlando’s top master-planned community, sited on the city’s southeast flank and only minutes from world-famous tourist attractions, Orlando’s bustling downtown, Orlando International Airport and major thoroughfares.

Convenience is one of Lake Nona’s calling cards, but hardly the only one. There’s much to enjoy about living here and we at ICI Homes can vouch for it. We’re hard at work on our first project in Lake Nona’s Laureate Park neighborhood, plus we’re developing our master-planned community of Live Oak Estates only a few minutes east of Lake Nona.

So hit save and read on for a quick resident’s guide to life in Lake Nona.

A Resident’s Guide to Life in Lake Nona - 2 2Why Lake Nona rocks

This isn’t another suburb. There are so many things to do, see and experience in Lake Nona, you might find it difficult to leave for other leisure and work activities!

One of Florida’s top-selling master-planned communities, Lake Nona covers 17 square miles. Dining, shopping, and entertainment activities are sprinkled all around and particularly at its town center. Sidewalks and outdoor recreation options enhance neighborly connectivity, as do community gardens, public sculptures, dog parks, playgrounds and tennis courts.

Crucially, Lake Nona is home to the Orlando area’s “Medical City,” with its ground-breaking research and care facilities, and the United States Tennis Association (UTSA) national campus.

Another factor? Convenience. Lake Nona’s just south of State Road 417, also known as the Central Florida Greenway, which connects with all major Orlando-area traffic arteries.
