Looking for a new home on the quiet side of Orlando? A place where your daily commute won’t leave you stewing in road-construction traffic? The only night noise comes from sharp-eyed owls in your backyard treetops.
We’ve got the place — Live Oak Estates just outside of Lake Nona.
This gated community by ICI Homes features spacious, one-acre lots tucked on the serene, southeast side of Orlando. It’s convenient to everywhere you need to be in the City Beautiful, yet a world away. Allow us to demonstrate.
Nature is Your Neighbor
Think chirping crickets and cicadas. Deer, wild turkeys, waterfowl, hawks and eagles.“No black bears,” per Maria Peralta, ICI Homes’ sales associate at Live Oak Estates. That’s probably a good thing. But there are inquisitive sandhill cranes — tall, stately birds with long legs and red foreheads — that pop up along roads, driveways and yards.
A pair frequently visit the Live Oak Estates model home, peering across its driveway at Peralta and her co-workers, who nicknamed the birds, “Lilo and Stitch,” after the movie. “They have a little attitude and expect you to go around them,” Peralta says of the cranes.
Close to Everything
Live Oak Estates gives you an end-of-the-day haven. You can work in more metropolitan areas of Orlando and live in peaceful — yes, even rural — Lake Nona. Live Oak Estates is 10 minutes to a grocery store, 10 minutes to “A-rated” Lake Nona schools and 10 minutes to Medical City, the cluster of major facilities on the west side of Lake Nona.
You only need 15-20 minutes to Orlando proper. You’re less than 10 minutes from the area’s eastern perimeter highway — the 417 — which can whisk you west to I-4 and Orlando’s major attractions, or north to 528, which leads you east to Cocoa Beach.
Great Community
Live Oak Estates is a hospitable place. Picture a gentleman on a weekend run along the neighborhood’s interconnected sidewalks — and his chocolate Lab galloping behind him. Sounds idyllic, doesn’t it? It’s fact.
Your prospective neighbors are retirees from Michigan, Illinois and New York. Professional folks with kids in primary and secondary schools. Younger families and couples (yes, millennials). Engineers, company vice presidents and business owners.
Neighbors look out for each other, says Peralta, who recently hosted a meet-the-neighbors social at Live Oak Estates’ model home. More than 80 people attended, and connections and conversations continued on the free private social-network app, Nextdoor.
One-of-a-Kind Neighborhood
There is no facsimile of Live Oak Estates anywhere in desirable Lake Nona. “One-acre home sites are hard to find here on gated land,” Peralta says. The tract that contains these lots is the fourth and final phase of Live Oak Estates, which ICI Homes developed and only 16 of 66 lots remain available.
Live Oak Estates offers all residents a playground and picnic area. The neighborhood is surrounded by oak and pine forests, and studded by dark, sparkling ponds and lakes. Lest that sounds a bit remote, know that Orange County Fire Department Station 77 is five minutes away, with three large, old-growth live oaks preserved near its driveway.
“If you live a hectic life, it’s a quiet place,” Peralta says of Live Oak Estates. “You can have a pool, tennis courts — your own little resort.”
