Oakmont, Gainesville’s newest master-planned community, will host its grand opening celebration this weekend, May 16-17, in conjunction with its “Designers on Parade” event, which will benefit the Sebastian Ferrero Foundation.
The Designers on Parade event gives prospective homebuyers and real estate professionals a chance to meet the designers responsible for the interior decorating of the six model homes in the community. On Saturday and Sunday, the interior designers of ICI Homes and other Oakmont builders will be onsite within the model homes from noon to 5 p.m.

Visitors in the model homes will receive a free card and will be invited to rate them based on their design features. For every completed card, the builders at Oakmont will make a $5 donation to the Sebastian Ferrero Foundation and the model home with the most votes will be named the Designer on Parade.

The mission of the Foundation serves to advocate and fundraise for a state-of-the-art, full service children’s hospital in Gainesville, while promoting excellence in patient safety and ensuring that all families are treated with compassion, courtesy and dignity.
