The 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty is approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and includes one year of workmanship coverage, two years of systems coverage, and ten years of structural defect coverage.
What does a 10-Year Structural Warranty cover?
It provides 10 years of structural defect coverage beginning on the day you move in or close the purchase of your new home.
What’s considered a structural defect?
Physical damage to a home’s designated load-bearing elements by failure that affect their load-bearing function to the extent that you home becomes unsafe to live in.

1 Year Workmanship Warranty
This coverage begins on the day you close and protects your home from defects in materials and workmanship for a full year. Specific details can be found in your Construction Performance Guidelines in your 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty Booklet.
What does my 1-year workmanship warranty cover?
Fireplace
Includes chimney draw, chimney connection to the house, and masonry hearth or facing.
Carpentry
Qualified defects in your home’s woodwork include the interior and exterior finish carpentry, plywood, joists, wood beams, posts, wood-framed floors, walls and ceilings, wood sheathing and subflooring.
Finishes (Drywall, Paint, Carpet, etc.)
Defects covered include the drywall, lath and plaster walls and ceilings, hard surface flooring, bathtubs, showers, and countertops, resilient and finished wood flooring, interior and exterior painting and carpeting.
Doors & Windows
Includes interior, exterior, and garage doors, door knobs, deadbolts and lock sets, weather stripping, wood, plastic and metal windows , glass and glazing, storm doors, windows and screens.
Cabinets & Vanities
Defects covered include those that take place in kitchen and vanity cabinet doors and drawers, high-pressure laminated kitchen and vanity countertops.
Electrical
Included are receptacles, fixtures, fuses, ground fault interrupters and circuit breakers.
Masonry
Covered defects include those in brick and stone veneer, concrete block basement walls, stucco and cement plaster walls.
Site Work
Protects against defects in grading established by our team around backfilled areas within 10 ft of your home’s foundation so surface water drains away from your home.
Thermal & Moisture Protection
Defects in waterproofing, moisture control and ventilation in basements, attics and roofs, insulation around living areas, exterior wall caulking and siding, gutters and downspouts.
Mechanical
Defects in plumbing and water supply fixtures such as faucets, valves, and water pipes as well as adequacy of heating and cooling systems.
Foundation & Concrete
Defects in concrete basements and foundation walls, basement and attached garage floors, slab-on-grade floors with finish flooring, stoops, steps, and interior concrete.
2-Year Systems Warranty

Repairs to sanitary sewers, fixtures, and waste & drain lines to prevent clogs or poor drainage.
Duct Work
Repairs to your home’s heating and cooling ductwork if it separates or detaches.

Waste, vent, and water pipe leaks and bursts, heating and air-conditioning refrigerant line leaks,
water supply and septic tank system operation.
Electrical System (Wiring)
Covers wiring and electrical conductors ensuring that the home’s wiring carries its designated load.
