While the game of golf might not officially be Florida’s state sport (being facetious here), it’s certainly a major player for many ICI Homes customers seeking their new custom Florida home.
It’s also worth noting there are three National-Day designations for golf. And, no matter whether you’re a golfing enthusiast who missed one, or were unaware such things existed, there’s always another National Day ahead dedicated to golf.
Here’s how to celebrate golf all year long with a new custom Florida home.
Key takeaways
- Golf is a year-round lifestyle in Florida with multiple national days celebrating the sport
- ICI Homes offers access to golf-focused communities across the state
- Buyers can live near or within premier golf courses and amenities
- Many communities offer flexibility with optional or required memberships
Bet you didn’t know
According to the National Day Calendar website, the game of golf is spotlighted on April 10 and October 4 in 2026. There’s a separate National Golf Day weekend in May recognized by an industry organization.
That’s not to say we can’t celebrate golf with a frozen treat on National Ice Cream Day (third Sunday in July), but specific dates always are a great excuse to schedule tee times or 19th-hole extravaganzas afterwards. Just saying.
April 10 is National Golfers Day. Woo-hoo to all duffers!
May 4-6 is National Golf Day, an observance by the American Golf Industry Coalition, which convenes in Washington, D.C., for three days of meetings, lobbying and advocacy for the sport’s businesses and organizations. The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America is another organization that participates in National Golf Day.
October 4 is National Golf Lovers Day, which seems to incorporate everyone — players, fans and all those who work in the golf industry.
Live and play in these ICI Homes golfing communities
Amelia National Golf & Country Club in Fernandina Beach (a Tom Fazio-designed course) and Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club in Ormond Beach (45 holes) are two of our signature properties.
The Reserve at Plantation Bay, a next-door enclave, offers membership access to all Plantation Bay amenities, including golf.
ICI Homes is a preferred builder in these master-planned communities with golf amenities: Glen Kernan in Jacksonville, Oasis at Hammock Dunes and The Conservatory at Hammock Beach in Palm Coast, and Lake Jovita in Dade City.
Lake Jovita is in closeout as of this writing, so hurry if a new custom luxury home on the north side of Tampa fits your parameters.
Many communities above developed by ICI Homes and those where we build, don’t require an amenity membership to live in and enjoy the community. Most require a membership to enjoy the golf amenities. Amelia National residents are required to purchase a lifestyle membership, so be sure to do your research on each community that interests you.
