Sunbridge is a mere 12 miles southeast of Lake Nona and 20 minutes south of the Orlando airport. Yet it feels a world away thanks to its 27,000 acres carved from Central Florida’s venerable Deseret Ranch, amid lakes, forests and prairies.
Both Sunbridge and its hometown of St. Cloud are sited in Osceola County. The city of St. Cloud is located only 21 miles southwest of Sunbridge, and it’s an easy, scenic route.
Exit Sunbridge’s main entrance on Cyrils Drive and turn left. A few miles away, turn left on Narcoossee Road and head south all the way into downtown St. Cloud.
What you’ll find
Perhaps the first thing you’ll notice as you arrive in St. Cloud is that it’s a waterfront city.
It sits on the south shore of East Lake Tohopekaliga (East Lake Toho, as it’s known). If you’re a new Florida resident as well as a new Sunbridge resident, one of the first things you might notice about the central part of the state is its many freshwater lakes, rivers and creeks.
Central Florida is well-known for these glistening bodies of water, and East Lake Toho is the most prominent — although hardly the only — example just down the road from Sunbridge. It covers nearly 12,000 acres and is nearly five miles wide, with Boggy Creek as its primary feeder source.
Needless to say, gorgeous watery vistas are never far away in downtown St. Cloud, where restaurants, shops, businesses and city offices are abundant. Lakefront Park showcases those vistas with public recreational trails, spaces and a marina, and St. Cloud’s Downtown Entertainment District welcomes residents, visitors and special events throughout the year.

You’ve heard of Orlando, right? All those famous “World” theme parks are right up the road from St. Cloud. Hop on U.S. Highway 192 just south of downtown St. Cloud and head west toward Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios.
Or, stay local and explore St. Cloud’s nearby sister city of Kissimmee, also on Highway 192. Catch the Silver Spurs Rodeo at Silver Spurs Arena. Visit the Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek Museum, which introduces visitors to bygone ways of life in Osceola County.
